Terms of Service
Snow Psychology Counselling Service
Last updated: August 19, 20261. Acceptance of These Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the snowpsychology.ca website (the "Site"), operated by Snow Psychology Counselling Services ("the Practice," "we," "us," or "our"). By browsing the Site, submitting a form, or booking a consultation through it, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
These Terms are separate from, and do not replace, the Informed Consent and Practice Policies agreement you review and sign before beginning counselling services with us. Where the two documents overlap, the signed Informed Consent agreement governs the counselling relationship itself; these Terms govern your use of the website.
2. No Counsellor-Client Relationship Formed by Website Use
Browsing this Site, reading its content, submitting a contact form, or booking an initial consultation does not, by itself, create a counsellor-client relationship. That relationship begins only once you have reviewed and signed our Informed Consent and Practice Policies agreement and formally engaged in counselling services with us.
3. Not a Crisis or Emergency Service
This Site and any contact form, email, or booking tool on it are not monitored in real time and are not a substitute for emergency or crisis services. If you are in crisis, thinking about suicide, or in immediate danger, please do not use this Site to seek help. Instead:
- Call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room
- Call or text 988 (Suicide Crisis Helpline, available 24/7 across Canada)
- Call the Distress Centre Calgary at 403-266-4357 (HELP), available 24/7
4. Website Content Is Not Clinical Advice
Blog posts, articles, resource guides, and other educational content on this Site are provided for general informational purposes only. They are not a substitute for individualized clinical assessment, diagnosis, or treatment, and reading this content does not create a counsellor-client relationship. Always consult a qualified mental health professional regarding your own circumstances before acting on anything you read here.
5. Booking Consultations and Sessions
Booking tools on this Site are provided for scheduling convenience. Submitting a booking request does not guarantee an appointment until confirmed by us. Fees, cancellation policies, and billing practices are set out in your Informed Consent and Practice Policies agreement.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on this Site, including text, graphics, logos, and images, is owned by Snow Psychology Counselling Services or used with permission, and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may view and share content for personal, non-commercial use, but may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from it without our written permission.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use this Site to:
- Submit false, misleading, or impersonated information through any form
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its data, or related systems
- Use the Site in a way that could disable, overburden, or impair its functioning
- Use automated tools to scrape or harvest content or contact information from the Site
8. Third-Party Links and Services
This Site may link to or rely on third-party services, such as Jane App for booking and client records, or external resources referenced in blog content. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of third-party sites, and linking to them does not imply endorsement.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
This Site is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, and we make no warranties about the accuracy or completeness of website content, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Snow Psychology Counselling Services will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, this Site. Nothing in this section limits any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability arising from the counselling services themselves, which are governed separately by your Informed Consent and Practice Policies agreement and applicable professional standards.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from your use of this Site will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Alberta.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the Site, or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
